Dimitrios Lamprou (Ph.D. MBA) is Reader in Pharmaceutical Engineering and Programme Director (Founder) at MSc Industrial Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy in Queen's University Belfast (UK). Dimitrios expertise is in Emerging Technologies for Drug Delivery and Medical Implants.
Dimitrios, is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications, has over 250 conference abstracts, has given over 100 Invited Talks in institutions and conferences across the world, and has secure Funding in excess of £2.2M. His research and academic leadership have been recognised in a range of awards, including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Science Award and the Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance Leaders Scheme Award.
Dimitrios, is the Chair at United Kingdom and Ireland Controlled Release Society (UKICRS), Chair (Founder) of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) Emerging Technologies Focus Group, Member of the British Standards Institute (BSI) AMT/8 committee for Additive Manufacturing, Section Editor for Heliyon (Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacology and Toxicology), Associate Editor at Frontiers in Medical Technology – Nano-Based Drug Delivery Section, Editor for Topical Collection in Pharmaceutics (3D Printing and Bioprinting Applications in Pharmaceutics), Guest Editor for 18 Special Issues in International Refereed Journals and Editorial Board Member for 3 Refereed Journals. Dimitrios has also a number of important University & School roles, most noticeably in the arena of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
